The weather is awful the past few days. One minute it’s hot as hell and the next it’s raining as if it was a scene in Roland Emmerich’s Day After Tomorrow. I’m starting to believe that the universe is doing this to spite all of us. Or maybe it’s just sad with the way things are going on right now. Pathetic fallacy? Maybe.
Lots of crappy stuff happening lately. I’m blaming them for the weather.
Groudon and Kyogre in an epic battle that caused constant weather changes in the Pokemon world. Rayquaza looks on.
The A(H1N1) virus has been spreading around at an alarming rate. Yesterday, it was reported that an analyst who recently came back from a trip from the US was confirmed to have been infected by the virus. That same analyst works at the building adjacent to ours. The reality of this problem has never been ever so present. Before, I used to dismiss the issue as a mere headline in the news. Something to talk about during dull moments and the elevator. Something to laugh about, with all the “swine flu” jokes running around. Well now, I’m actually worried I might get infected. It’s too close for comfort. Also, being infected is also equal to endangering my family with the virus. It’s like a zombie virus infection already.
And the bright and sunny day transforms into strong winds and heavy rain.
I also attribute the weather to the Congress’ hasty passage of House Resolution No. 1109. House Resolution No. 1109 paves way to a Constitutional Assembly that would allegedly enable the executives of the current administration and its political allies to stay in power beyond 2010. The Palace remains distant from the issue officially stating that they are “all geared up” for the national elections next year. This raised a lot of brows since the timing is questionable and was done in an almost ninja like fashion. While the country kept buzzing about Dr. Hayden Kho’s sex videos, the Congress was sneaky enough to perform all its black magic under the media’s radar.
Here we go again.
Now, the country is on the verge of social unrest. Different groups are already organizing rallies and various forms of protest. The streets will be clogged again with rallyists causing metro-wide traffic jams, investors pulling the plug due to the expected political turmoil this would bring and other socio-political effects that could possibly be underway just because a group of selfish individuals want to stay in power. No matter what it takes. At the expense of their countrymen. As expected, political adversaries of the current administration are already joining the circus and would ride the issue. Now whether they believe and truly understand the cause or not, is a totally different matter. At this point, a political circus is tantamount to a much bigger social circus. It’s really country gangrape at its finest.
And the bright and sunny day transforms into strong winds and heavy rain.
A FOR EFFORT. School children in Liangan West in Maigo, Lanao del Norte clean their room while waiting for more classmates to arrive on the first day of classes Monday.
While it may not be having much media time compared to the two pressing issues mentioned above, another pressing issue troubles the country. It has been reported that (once again) there is a shortage of classrooms for public school students. This means students would have to resort to having class outside classrooms. The unstable weather conditions is not helping to alleviate this problem. I think these are the type of issues that should be addressed by politicians and should be more focused on by the media. All the shit you read in the news and crap you watch on TV are all about politics, political personalities, political issues and all the political crap this country has to offer. It’s disgusting, really. And when more significant issues like shortage in classrooms are left to rot in its corner, you’d really feel you want to kick yourself in the face and ask “WTF is wrong with you Philippines?”
And the bright and sunny day transforms into strong winds and heavy rain.
That’s the macro…
Last night while trying to relax from another long day at work, I was able to finish Plants VS Zombies. I was able to finally defeat the giant robot zombie and unlock the rest of the hidden features of the game. I was able to plant three new Marigolds in my Zen Garden and bought myself a gatling gun plant in preparation for the Survival Mode. I also bought a snail to help me fetch my gold coins. It’s nice really. I felt good that I was able to finally finish the game. But somehow it didn’t felt complete.
Because I had no one to share it with at that time.
And the clear and starry night transforms into strong winds and heavy rain.
Sigh.
