Web 3.0 will be about connectivity and empowerment. Users will be given more options for connectivity using mobile devices. One day we will all be accessing Facebook using our mobile phones, PDAs and whatnot while watching “net shows” on Youtube. Online entities such as social networks will be key in shaping a more sophisticated form of communities.

Web 3.0 will also increase the scope of new media as videos, audio and print are now being transmitted more and more online. This will eventually pave way to videos and audio specifically made to be viewed and distributed online. Before, rockstars will have to put their music online to be popular. Nowadays, you can be a popular rockstar online before even coming out with an actual album. Blogs will be as powerful as print media. Online marketing will refrain from being a “niche” thing to an accepted norm.

Barack Obama will officially be President of the United States on Tuesday (Manila time). This is probably one of the most anticipated, not to mention the biggest American event this year. I read that it going to be a grand celebration with millions of people expected to attend Mr. Obama’s inaguration. Friends, supporters, even enemies. Change is what Obama has been feeding everyone since early last year. I hope he doesn’t fall short on his promise of change. He’s young but the guy surely has the guts. He’s got more than half of the American people at his back. I hope that’s enough backbone to do the right thing and not get trapped with the same quicksand that Mr. Bush got himself into. Let him not be an Erap Estrada.

Anything sugar free tastes awful in my opinion. Thank goodness I don’t have diabetes. Diabetes is one SOB of a disease. It does not only make your physical condition suffer, but it also imposes limits on enjoying the best things in life. No ice cream? No milk chocolates? No old ol’ cafe latte? Unfortunately, it runs in the family. Sigh. I guess I’ll just have to make sure I don’t suffer from it. I love chocolates and anything sweet too much that I think I’d go crazy without ‘em.

I should get a new mobile phone. The one I have with me is retirable already. I had this one for almost 6 years now. The keypads are wonky and the battery life is dwindling already. I was never the guy to buy the latest model whenever one comes out. As long as it’s working, then it’s fine by me. Now, there are too many models to choose from. I remember back in the day when there were only few models that you immediately know which has the best features to suit your needs. Today, there are phone brands that I’m not even familiar with. Hmm… better get a phone with wifi and/or 3G capability. An online marketing strategist needs to be online all the time right?

I want to be in touch with literature again. A friend of mine is very much in love with literature that she actually breathes literature as I type this entry. Conversations with her the past few days makes me want to write stories again and revisit the classics. Can you imagine me talking about Shakespeare and his plays? I guess not. Me neither. But I do know a little about these stuff and I’m actually surprised I can swing with the conversation like a Literature nerd or something. Who talks about Richard III (the play) and its historical connotations for an afternoon chat? Only bored nerds. That’s me, trying to be intelligent.

I never bring work at home. My home is a place where I can relax from the stress that work brings me. My brain would programmed to relax and enjoy and take my time. I’m very particular with having a good work-life balance. Work at home would simply be counter productive. Some people think work-life balance is work = life. Well my life is NOT work. There is not a job in this world that would make me want to think work = life. To those who think this way, you dudes need to get a life.
And don’t give me that crap about if you love your work so much you won’t feel like working at all. C’mon. Who are we kidding? Even if you’re enjoying at work, you’re still working. That’s work. Do you eat ice cream at work? Do you sleep at work? Do you play games at work with your little sisters? Do you eat dinner with your parents at work? Do you watch movies at work? NO. Heck, you don’t even spend time with your friends at work. I guess it’s just a matter of priority.

A fantastic workshop this morning at the Royal National Theatre, as part of the William Poel verse-speaking festival. Cicely Berry, the grand-dam of voice and Shakespeare gave the workshop after mine – I intended to stay for 5 minutes, and was there until the end. Great to watch a master at work.

Hahaha wizatch. Wala ka na namang maisip isulat dito. Pero ok yung part sa literature. Ako man sinusubukan ko magsingit ng libro habang school year. Just to break the monotony.
