I Promise That I’ll Have Either (or Both) of These in 10 Years

The first item seems easier to achieve. Rolexes are expensive but an Accord can burn your wallet faster than Human Torch. I’m sure by the time I can afford to buy the first item, I’d be in a state where I can also afford to buy the second item. 10 years baby. That’s a long time for a lot of people. But heck, I’m gonna get there.  At least I know where I’m going. 

Don’t get me wrong. The goal is NOT about the money. It’s not even about owning luxury items and stuff. These things are mere representations of where I want go to and where I  want to be come December 2018. It’s about financial stability and living a comfortable lifestyle. Having enough on the side to reward yourself every so often for a job well done. Having enough on the side to treat your family to a nice trip out of town or out of the country. Having enough on the side not to worry about bills, misc. costs, salary of employees (yes, I want my own biz). Having enough on the side not to worry about emergencies and other unforseen circumstances, etc. And hopefully when the time comes that I do marry and settle down… Having enough on the side to make sure my own family is well taken cared off and my children enjoy the best of everything else.

But these goals won’t come at the pace I’m running right now. I’ve been working for almost 2 years now and I feel like I’ve wasted all that time doing nothing to get to that place / state / condition / utopia (or whatever you want to call it).  Sure, I’ve been able to do lots of stuff for the company that employs me to the point of acquiring bragging rights about ‘em. Heck, I know I’m good. Ateneo trained, student leader, now a “successful” marketing strategist, etc. It’s just that I feel like I’m wasting my skills and should be somewhere else. I’m sorry if I sound arrogant. But seriously, I wouldn’t write about it if I knew I’d be eating my words later in the future.

Unfortunately, I have to admit that I am nowhere near the word “satisfied” with what little I have right now.  I dream of bigger things and bigger places to conquer. And if you’re talking about determination, you’re damn right I have it in every bit of blood cell that flows through my veins. 

At this point, I should have a modified mindset. No need to change it. I know what I want and what I need to do to get there. Hence, just the need to modify it. FOCUS is the new mantra. I have to be more focused with my goals. From “I want to go there” to “I have to get there.” Rules must be enforced heavily on myself. I have the tendency to abuse myself and allow things to get out of hand especially when things get to be too easy or too hard.

I must stay focused.
