Ever since Apple introduced the iPhone, almost every mobile phone manufacturer have put in their own efforts to “stop” the iPhone’s success by introducing their own version of a touchscreen mobile phone that has gazillions of features. Samsung has Instinct and Omnia, HTC has Diamond, Nokia has the N95, Sony Ericsson has its Xperia and so on and so forth.
To these companies, the introduction of the iPhone a few years ago is a veritable threat to their sales and present serious problems if they are not able to come up with a more technologically advanced product and at the same time backed by a powerful marketing strategy. In such stiff competitions, bashing the market leader is almost an everday thing.
In the process, some companies can go overboard. In a funny way.
The Phone that can do it all. It can even prepare your morning coffee.
Yep. It’s also a coffee maker. Need that essential cup of Columbian coffee before a 4-hour morning meeting? Well it’s a good thing you have your Pomegranate Phone with you.
Wasn’t able to shave your legs before that important date? No worries, because that Pomegranate phone also has a shaver feature. Avoid embarrassement and shave those hairy legs in no time!
It’s also a projector. Watch movies or wow your bosses with your latest marketing plan using the Pomegranate phone as your overhead projector for promotion-clinching presentations.
And that’s only half of what it can do. And yes, it’s a mobile phone.
You guys should check it out yourselves. The phone’s website is http://www.pomegranatephone.com.
Personally, I don’t believe this is real. I mean, c’mon! Look at that! But the idea that some genius flash developer spent X days in making such elaborate presentation of a fictional phone is both worthy of an applause and a very hard head desk.
Marketing wise, it caught my attention. The design itself will catch anyone’s attention. The use of flash and video is very well done that a part of me actually feels bad that this phone is simply a parody of Apple’s iPhone. The name itself is a gag. Apple VS Pomegranate. Yep. Fruit mobile phones. Maybe Nova Scotia is taking it a little to far. Also, spending $300K on such gag ad is really a wow. That amount could already feed a small country for a week.
And I doubt if the mobile coffee maker at that size even exists. The concept is something to smile at. Who knows, maybe in the future this stuff will actually be a reality. And everybody will laugh at me for laughing at it today. I wait for that day, and when that day comes, I’m gonna make sure I own a Pomegranate Phone myself.
P.S. i LOL’d.
aw…
its too impossible to a phone becomes a coffee maker..
